NAPPIES

Cloth Diapering 101

What are cloth nappies?

Cloth nappies are a sustainable alternative to disposable nappies. They work basically in the exact same way, only difference being that you throw them in the wash, instead of the bin.

How are your cloth nappies different from other brands?

Our cloth nappies have been designed with New Zealand weather in mind. They are very thirsty but usually have a quirk that makes them fast drying. Our trifolds, for example, have been designed in a loop, so that you're drying two layers at a time instead of four. Our nappies all work together beautifully. The covers have been designed to make nappy changes quick and easy, while keeping laundry to a minimum. Our Winged Pre-Flats are thisrty and incredibly quick drying; a new take on a classic.

What do I need to start cloth diapering?

You don't need 50 nappies to stqart your cloth nappy journey all you need is one. One nappy a day is already one less nappy doing to landfill. Once you've tried it, you are able to build your stash from there. Another alternative, is to purchase one of our Bulk Bundles as this usually comes with at least 4 nappies in a pack and is a great way to try them out for a day at a time to see how you find the day to day routine.

How many nappies do I need to cloth diaper part-time?

To cloth diaper part time we recommend at least 15 nappies. Our Nappy Covers can last multiple changes and only need switching out once pooped in. An idea of what these 15 nappies could look like for you: 4-7 Covers (depending on frequency of washing and pooping) 15 Winged Pre-Flats OR 4-7 Covers (depending on frequency of washing and pooping) 15 Bamboo Looped Trifolds OR 4-7 Covers (depending on frequency of washing and pooping) 10 Winged Pre-Flats 5 Bamboo Looped Trifolds
